UncategorizedThe chance won’t come again
Both the Owlz (12-1)and Black Sox (11-4) lost today.
We have sole possession of second, one game behind the Owlz who have 2 games at hand and dominate us in all tie breakerz.
We have to take care of business tomorrow against the same team we beat today.
nothin’ to fuck with
The South Oakland Ducks of the North Side (12-3) won their seventh consecutive game – the longest current winning streak in the Pittsburgh NABA.
The Ducks have allowed six runs in the last seven games.
The Ducks have recorded three consecutive shutouts.
Adam Smith (5-1) has pitched 19 consecutive scoreless innings.
Tony Casale hit a solo homerun.
Wojton had 2 triples and 3rbi.
Depo and Murphy hit doubles
Coby leads the team in infield hits
The Warriors have the best looking left fielder in the league by far.
Kenny Powers just wants to be loved
Tomorrow won’t be as easy.
full recap to follow – a Gibson/Gunner joint.
BP 12-1:15pm tomorrow at Pitt.
Ducks at Warriors at 3pm at Ohio River Blvd. Field
Quack.
I’d post them if i felt like creating a pdf file or something but i don’t.
it’s only the warriors stats anyway.
Also was the box score of a game i played on the Warriors against the Eagles.
an excerpt from the email:
Ben, I thought these games were funny to look back on. 7/17/05: The Peters brothers rolled into Herb field in the top of the first with Stein at bat. Dan Peters must have just rolled out of bed, he was actually in just a pair of shorts. 6/8/06 (You filled in for us vs. the Eagles)
then the stats.
If it seems like i gush over how far the league has come that should give you an idea of why.
guys don’t wear shorts anymore, and we don’t normally play on different teams.
there are also significantly fewer 18-15 games.
So whatever.
Let’s avenge that 18-15 loss.
The Warriors are without Steve Heckman who is at some Gay Rights rally in Washington D.C.
He is a brave one.
This is the start of a crucial stretch for South Oakland of the North Side.
After taking a year-long furlough between games we have 3 tough ones in a row.
Let’s get off to a strong start against the Rainbow Warriors, and stay hot through Monday.

Last year we lost 7-4 – i think – in a game where we had second baseman issues and gave up like 5 unearned.
The Warriors are always tough, they will have some kid who throws strikes and knows how to pitch, and a bunch of guys who can catch the ball.
and this guy
I haven’t seen Wojton in ten years, is he alive?
Will Jesse Smith take some kid yard again like he did in our last game against the Warriors?
Will Watson be back from his ankle injury?
How many Doubles will Captain America hit?
Who will pitch for the Ducks?
Abe Lincoln knows…

We will find out tommorrow
We should have all Ducks on board.
Quack.
{This is the Ducks Blog’s 300th post}
thanks to everyone who has contributed to the blog.
and most importantly, thanks for reading.
Into the belly of the beast.
I’ve been to at least 40 Phish shows, 4 is my lucky number.
The last time i saw Phish was 2003 – the last year the Ducks won a Championship.
Superstition City.
I hate Hippies so much.
Huge weekend for the Ducks.
Batting Practice Friday 6pm, and Saturday 12pm-1:15 then we leave for Warrendale Field
Quack.

If for some reason we had a blogger who didn’t also play on our team, or i was smart enough to be anonymous from jump street.

it would open the door for the blog to say things like who we’re going to beat etc…
but I didn’t and we don’t.
I’m just glad I’m not thinking about how I’m going to avoid a first round match-up with myself, and hoping to get forfeits from the Matadors, and hoping other teams lose etc.
Those were bleak times.
I don’t know how I’d feel if I were a player and our defact-o team spokesman specifically said we were going to lose 3 of 7 games.
(Any Duck who wants admin access to our blog is welcome to it, the more variety we have in the voice of this site the better.)
and I would sure as hell be pissed if I were Dr. Radical, and a 2-12 team said my team was one of 4 he expected to beat.
The odds are they won’t lose to them twice.
The Gray Bats figure to be active at the roster deadline.
My take on the rest of the Ducks schedule is that every game individually is winnable.
We went 9-3 in the first half of the season, and to improve that by one game and finish 19-5 seems reasonable.
The big picture goals are to advance in the playoffs, make a run at the conference title and the championship.
Kenny Powers will be out for blood the next time we face them.
To list individually which games i think we will win is not something I would do.
The South Oakland Ducks (11-3) of the North Side have won 6 straight – a franchise record.
DR. RADICAL4Life!
This Comment thread is still active and full of spite.
Quack.

Big Weekend ahead
What can we expect from the Warriors this weekend?
They are very possibly hoping we overlook them on our way to our division game against the Owlz on Monday.
They play the Eagles Wednesday night.
Steve Heckman, the Warriors co-manager who runs his team with life partner Jason “Phil Lesh”-er, had probably the most comprehensive statistical database in the league for his team.
That’s one regret i have is being such a mess for the first two Ducks seasons that there is not much record we even existed except for our 2003 Championship trophy, and a few ancient player of the week blurbs on the league site.
I’ve been trying to calculate our all-time W-L record as it is most likely nearing the .500 mark.
I just don’t count well.
At least this season’s Ducks know I did not imagine Britton, our ss/sb from the Ducks’ early days.
Anyway, unfortunately the Warriors official homepage has been out of commission (too bad there were some very photoshop worthy pics on that site). Possibly due to Tipper Gore taking offense to the Heckman thong, which was available for purchase, and petitioning to have sale of this item banned, and the site removed.
If it wouldn’t get me banned from the pgh naba, I’d wager a ducks t-shirt vs. a Steve Heckman thong on this one -it would be the creepiest pine-tar rag ever.
(That could be a wonderfully disgusting metaphor as well.)
It is kind of a niche item.
How horrifying would it be to take home some lucky lady from Spice Cafe and then right when the moment of truth was upon you, in your drunken half-comatose state, she takes off her pants and you see Steve Heckman grinning at you.
Would you still have sex with her after you vomited all over the place?
The answer to that question will tell you a lot about yourself.
The Ducks Warriors rivalry is one that is as old as the Pittsburgh NABA.
We basically owned these guys back in the Ambridge days – when they were called the Pirahnas.
They still have nightmares about Ian Dickman.
I still have nightmares about Dickman blowing out his arm.
I hit my first lcareer home run off the Warriors’ Jason Baker, who i think pitched at Baseball Factory: Waynesburg College – no one ever asks how big the field was when you tell them you hit a home run.
League News:
The Bulldogs lost to the Electric Light Orchestra last night. Just when it looked like they had turned the corner.
Playmaker must have made his dramatic return.
To Find out more about this game check out their Blog.
He belongs on the Gray Bats, he’s a lifetime .370 something switch hitting catcher, someone put these two parties in contact.
All Star starters and pitchers were voted on by the managers.
I don’t remember everyone, but among the Ducks (11-3) who got the nod are:
Will Kenny Powers also be an assistant to head coach Rob Cool?
Will Rob Cool finalize his roster by “acquiring” half of the Mon all-starz?
What will Black Sox and Owlz fans do when they are forced to cheer for the same team?
Will Kenny Powers pitch this season?
Will the Ducks finally get some fans at our games?
We need a harem.
Quack.
Be ready, Mars.
If anyone who has admin access to the blog, who has a different opinion on the Owlz than I do, I suggest they write a blog post.
I’ll post basically anything emailed to me by other teams as well, as long as it’s baseball relevant, and/or can get discussion going. Or its about the Pens.
If we need this blog to get us fired up to play against the first place team in our division, we’re jokes.
It helps against the last place team though. Thanks, Tipper.
If you have 20 min to kill check out this youtube.
Sweet hate-filled comment thread
HERE
If the Matadors or Rebels forfeit one more game, they will be dissolved.
There are 40 available free agents, yet teams still can’t get 9 on a given day and refuse to add players.
Tremmel is a beast.
We’re gunning for a bye, all the games are big from here on out.
It starts Saturday with the Warriors.
Quack.
