Oilers Set Rotation to Stun

2011 Ducks Baseball

Amidst a flurry of shit talking via email correspondence, Big Oil boasted of their ability to receive government subsidies and enjoy tax-free status, while the middle class, as represented by the blue collar Brookline Black Sox and manager, Kenny Powers, continues to shrink and pay $4.00 a gallon.

South Oakland has a healthy respect and disdain for our long time rivals in Brookline who have been busy collecting seasonal unemployment and tossing beer kegs and cinder blocks at one another as part of an intense off-season conditioning program.

I imagine words insinuating milkshake drinking were thrown about while Oil management sauntered about Brooks Brothers buying polo shirts during lunch hour, and unwittingly hit ‘reply all’ on on of their team iPhones.

Big Oil plans to throw their ace tonight against Brookline with a game against the defending champion Ducks on Wednesday.

Clearly they think we’re a bunch of pussies. I don’t know what other conclusion can be logically drawn.

In other news, I finally saw There Will Be Blood, and the Oilers homepage finally makes sense. Solid flick.

Well played there for sure.

Ironically, the Black Sox picked  their new team slogan, “Use a fucking piano leg with a nail in it if you have to,” from another Daniel Day Lewis movie, Gangs of New York.

If it doesn’t get rained out it should be a good one tonight at Spring View, as the revamped Big Oil squad takes on the always dangerous, Black Sox in a 2010 semifinal rematch.

Quack.

Redundancy

2011 Ducks Baseball, pittsburgh NABA

Cranberry brings an imposing starting rotation and a very shrill voice to the Allegheny Division in their inaugural season

No word if suspenders are part of the uniform.

Jack White for President.

Ducks,

Register online at pittsburghnaba now and send money if you still owe outstanding dues.

Once again,

send checks made out to Ben Gwin to

Pittsburgh, PA, 15224

Still waiting on the final cost per player. My fault there.

There are several players who have paid me nothing, this is not ideal.

If nothing changes it’s going to be over 250 thanks to the uniforms, but they look great and we won’t have to get new ones for eight more years.

This number should drop.

You won’t have to buy a hat if you still have last year’s and want to save a few bucks.

Anyone who wants a breakdown of costs let me know and I’ll pass it along.

If you’re sick of lame posts about admin shit that (almost) no one wants to help with and finances, then send in your money and I’ll get back to writing lame posts about amateur baseball that no one wants to read.

Seriously we will forfeit games if we have to.

See Win Win. It’s hilarious.

Still waiting on news of the final amount of the contribution from Fago’s benefactor.

***

I have no clue about Cranberry except it’s full of yuppies and strip malls and I fucking hate it there.

Guthrie will start the opener.

We’ll will start the season short handed, as Mike’s Duffy and Fletcher won’t return until late May, and the Waynesburgh, Thiel  and Gannon University/College players won’t finish their seasons until mid-May.

I guarantee at least tree rainouts before then.

We’re built for post-season success and concede nothing.

quack, quack.

The season and our title defense starts in like 10 minutes, Jesus.

New Unis are in and they’re quacktastic.

Updates

2011 Ducks Baseball, NABA

Ducks,

The final per-player cost will be determined once we finalize the sponsorship situation – ideally by the end of March.

Plan on $225 and be pleasantly surprised when that number shrinks.

I need to know if you plan on returning this season before the next league meeting on march 6th.

The new unis are sick.

I need someone to run batting practice until I finish school and get my custody/childcare situation settled which will be by mid April.

Someone needs to step up here.

Right now the roster looks like it will shrink to a manageable number, under 20 for the first time in history.

Slick Rick will be returning as the second longest tenured Duck.

This is My Thesis, Man!

Duckz, League Champion South Oakland Ducks

During the offseason, a song from Jack White’s side project, Dead Weather, appeared in Eastbound and Down .

We need the first round of league dues paid by Feb 10th

Overall We’re looking at $200 to $220 per player.

Please get me at least $50 by the 10th

We should be around 200-220 per player this season.

No idea how the league meeting went. Guthrie and or Fago was in attendance.
