South Oakland scored four runs in the top of the sixth to cap a dramatic comeback win over the South Hills Devils.

Jake Dockum and Tony Casale both hit triples. Mike Brandt recorded a key HBP and an RBI double.

Pittsburgh D2 first baseman, Ken Ames hit a walk-off 2-run double last night in Elliot. D2 scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh. The Ducks fell to 7-9 with the loss.

With a chance to get back to .500 and stay on the periphery of the division race this was a tough loss to a good team.

Jake Dockum and Tony Casale both hit doubles.

South Oakland is 4-4 in one-run games this season.

June 2, John Herb Field, Ross Twp.: The Ducks came from behind to defeat D2 5-4 in eight innings. Aiden Alessio singled home a run in the sixth to tie the game at 4. Ben Gwin singled home the winning run with two outs in the 8th inning.

Ryan Myers pitched 5 strong innings before giving way to the bullpen. Stephen Murray and Brandon Blackstone pitched 3 scoreless innings in relief. Anthony DeFilippo hit two doubles.

June 7, Riverview Field, Oakmont. South Oakland lost to the Lions 4-0. We can’t seem to score against these guys.

June 9, John Herb Field, Ross Twp.: South Oakland beat the Eagles 13-8 in a classic NABA game between two legacy teams with wild bird mascots. After falling behind 2-0 in the first inning, the Ducks exploded for 10 runs in the bottom of the second, chasing the Eagles starter.

The Eagles screetched back within 2 runs behind two doubles, a handful of errors, and a ball that hit second base and bounced into right field. The lead felt tenuous at 10-8.

South Oakland answered with three big insurance runs in the bottom of the 4th, and the game settled down after that.

South Oakland lost 6-5 to Bakery Square last Tuesday night, in a game neither team seemed to want to win. Ducks pitchers combined to walk eleven batters. The Bandidos scored the go-ahead run on a bases loaded error in the top of the seventh. Eric Friend had a bases loaded triple and 2 HBP for Bakery Square.

The Ducks rebounded on Saturday, defeating the South Side Eagles 6-4 behind a complete game from Brandon Blackstone. Mike Brandt had 2 RBI in the win.

South Oakland came up short against the Bandidos again on Sunday morning, losing the early morning affair 9-6. The Bandidos scored 6 runs in the bottom of the fifth to put the game out of reach. Tom Pulice, Anthony Defilippo, and Tony Casale hit doubles for South Oakland.
