  1. Ducks just have the best player development system, scouting reports, and most productive farm teams in the league. They are the model club for the NABA. Other players wives wish their husband were a duck and players children want to grow up to be a duck. This is what success and championship caliber play gets you.

  2. Eh, Ducks were an everyman’s team for years…just a bunch of guys looking to have fun. Until Ben Gwin saw dollar signs and began signing hired guns (aka college ball players) in an attempt to go all ‘George Steinbrenner’ on NABA. No Average Joe’s job was safe. Depot was told to shut up and ride the pine. Insulted, he quit. Their nice friendly former manager whose name escapes me was sent packing to the West coast or something before the start of this year, leaving the position open for Gwin to hog. Ducks = hired guns. Nothing like the fun teams of old. Winning is everything. Even if steroids are required to be passed out freely in the dugouts of Western Pennsylvania. Gimme the classic Ducks team anyday over these current bunch of egomaniacs.

  3. James Fago looks like Roger Goodell’s retarded little brother.

And I second duckead’s comment…don’t really know if their egomaniacs, and there’s no problem with having college players, but who despised the owlzzzzz then said sure you can start for me then turned his back on guys who been with him forever? Benedict Gwin. And no Benedict, that’s what happened, no if’s, and’s or but’s about it, just the facts ma’am. Just the facts.

    1. I’ve been a duck since ’03. Literally, I was the first Duck. So if we’re going by tenure as the prominent factor as to whom the manager should be loyal, then I do what I think is best for the longevity of the Ducks as the founder of the team.

I went from hitting second and starting every day to being our fourth outfielder. I’m hitting well right now, so I’m in the lineup.

I have fun on this team. Whalen is the fun on this team.

Of course I want to win, but I still play everyone as best I can.

I think our chemestry now is great, as good as it was when we were losing to the Black Sox and the Owlz.

For fuck’s sake, Guthrie was the winning pitcher in the championship last year, and after party MVP.

I kept spots on the roster for McCray, Wojton, TC and brought back Fletcher becuase ducks with tenure do have priority on roster spots over new players, even the guys Cool brings in. That includes getting Higgins a spot this year even though his registration got fucked up. We had little turnover from last season because guys are enjoying it.

      Rob Cool’s a great teammate.

I’d do the same thing again.

I’ve never told anyone they couldn’t play.

      Depot is a racists pussy.

      I stand behind my decisions.

  4. Ok. First off, I am pretty sure Fago would K you any day of the week. Dude puts breaks his balls for the team and does whatever he can do for the team. Second, Ben does what he can to win. I have been on the team for 2 years now and he is always someone who puts the team first. Everyone on the Ducks hates losing. Winning means everything to us and if you want to go have fun playing, go play slow pitch softball. Stop complaining about us having college players. No one ever said other teams could not have them. Get better or get replaced is the motto other teams that bitch should have instead of accepting losing. No offense to ex-Ducks because the ones I know where great guys.

  6. please “bone”, don’t make the assumption that I am some scrub talking random shit and tellin me he’ll k me, he’s probably a good guy and the roger goodell thing was a joke, so relax…second, I’m all about winning a championship but if you are in the NABA and can say with a straight face “winning is everything”, you need to get a life; or at least actually do roids and play in a more competitive league (or play with Buckshot Bob Holloway)…and if Benedict does what he can to win, why did it take so long for his team to get good players? They fell into his lap, or else he would have continued the tradition of league-average play. So don’t get all swole on me “bone”, just enjoy the facts.

  7. Okay go. I definitely want nothing to do with that turd muncher holloway, but to me winning is everything reguardless if it is in the NABA, college ball, or even if its a pick up basketball game or something. I wasn’t raised to take shit and I wasn’t taught that losing is okay and I am sure almost everyone on the team is the same way, except for Rob Tool because he is of course gay. And I am not assuming that you are a scrub, that was a joke (just like half the teams in this league). I am not trying to disrespect anyone. Everyone wants to talk shit on the Ducks and recently we have been the ones laughing at the end.

  10. Ok, Roger Goodell is a handsome man, so I will take that as a compliment. I am proud to say that I have played in the NABA longer than most but not as long as many. The old ducks reminded me of the sandlot, always having fun and winning more than lost. I played on Robs Owlz and it was much different but I only enjoy the game, I never wanted a separation of Ducks last year, I mean I joined the Ducks before the Owlz did when I played in Erie with them and had a blast. I much prefer the having fun and winning than the just winning type of ball and that is what Ben has done. I know that we have gotten everyone in games this year, even in the playoffs, and have given everyone an opportunity to show what they have. I was happier last night after the win than ever and I hope all of the prior Ducks can share in our success, because if they hadn’t kept with the league then we wouldn’t be here now. The pressing business is the Bulldogs and we have the Quack attack coming so let’s get ready to repeat.

  11. of course everyone plays to have fun, but regardless of what league you are in, it is more fun if you are winning. with all the new teams and younger players, at some point it gets tougher to compete with the college kids…. that’s what the 28 and over league is for (though I would argue that some of the teams in the PBL could compete at the top of the naba).

the old school ducks should form a 28 and over team and come play against the old school bulldogs. most of the original bulldogs have either retired or moved on to the senior team, but I still like following the naba action and hope that the young dawgs can finally win a playoff game (for the fist time in history – sad but true).
