Kenny Powers is a Champion…

pittsburgh NABA, South Oakland Ducks Baseball

An AA division regular season champion anyway, the Sox earned the one seed sweeping the HURRICANES! 2 games to 0, at Spring View.

Sox won game 1, 3-2 and game 2, 6-3.

Kenny Powers hit a game winning home run of Rafalski  in the 8th inning of game 1.

The Hurricanes are in the Ducks bracket. They will play the Militia in the quarterfinals unless something goes terribly wrong and the Titans upset Michigan.

The Ducks could play the Hurricanes in the semi finals if South Oakland beats the Knights and the Maulers over the weekend.

  1. That AA series was pointless. The canes will come out on top in the real tournament that actually matters. Hopefully we will actually play on a legit size field where routine fly balls don’t get out to centerfield. What a joke!

  2. I couldn’t agree more. Powers is straght up POWER-LESS. 1 Home run on the year. Congratulations Kenny. Did you keep the ball and give it to your Mommy, you pussy?!? I don’t even want to get started on his little dance he does at the plate after he hits a HR. Actually, it only happens once a year at most, so I can live with it.

  3. Both of you are a joke. If the series was meaningless to the both of you then why are you crying like 5 year old t-ballers???? Yeah, the home run was not a shot, but did anyone on your team hit a home run? NO!!!!! Keep talking shit and you guys might just see an early exit from the tournament!

  4. I’m pretty sure Kenny Rayl is still the all-time home run leader in Pittsburgh NABA history, so he’s done his dance more than anyone else you retard

  5. Hey Slavs, before you finish eating Kenny’s pussy, let me tell you that being the all-time HR leader in the NABA isn’t something to brag about. Hitting a career total of 10 HR’s over a 5 year period in a dog shit league, where pitchers throw meatballs on a constant basis isn’t that great. I mean I can hit a shit load of HR’s off my little sister in the backyard, but you don’t hear me bragging about it.

  6. Alright, start the feudin’!

No games should be meaningless, especially a division championship game. No excuses.

I hear Kenny’s first HR was back in ’88.

  7. Hey tough guy, way to run your mouth on this blog behind your silly ass username. Why don’t you just come out and say who you are and who you play for? Are you too scared? BostonBakedBeanz? What the hell is that crap? Beans beans their good for your heart, the more you eat them, the more you fart! If its so easy to hit home runs in the NABA, how many do you have?

Just so you know, the only pussy I’ll be eating is your moms.

  8. Larryz…just shut up. “Way to go Kenny!” You’re gay!

Slavs, unbelievable post. That rhyme was epic. I have no rebuttal. However, I always remember it as Beans, beans the magical fruit, the more you eat the more you toot. ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS?

  9. So, let me get this straight. BostonBakedBeanz equates Kenny hitting a Home Run off Rafalski to him hitting a home run off of his little sister?

I’m pretty sure Kenny and Rafalski deserve a little more respect than that. Both teams played in the same band-box, and faced the same “meat-ball” pitching, yet the Black Sox prevailed.

Kenny doesn’t appear to be bragging about his home-run, but the Canes appear to making excuses for their losses.

And what happened in Game 2?

  10. Anyone with any brains knows Kenny is all fun. So what, he does a silly dance. Big deal. Strike him out next time.

And I am not gay. Nor am I gay curious.

  11. an interesting ruling happened on the field last night by the home plate umpire.

The black sox were up to bat in the second game, runner on third less than two outs. The batted ball hits the umpire standing behind the pitchers mound. Home plate umpire calls dead ball, after a conference when both teams questioned the call, the batter was declared out and the runner was allowed to score. Most thought that there should not have been a dead ball called.

Consulting the MLB rules, section 5.09 “The ball becomes dead and runners advance one base, or return to their bases, without liability to be put out, when-“ (f) “A fair ball touches a runner or an umpire on fair territory before it touches an infielder including the pitcher, or touches an umpire before it has passed an infielder other than the pitcher.” Comment: “If a fair ball touches an umpire working in the infield after it has bounded past, or over, the pitcher, it is a dead ball…”

Now to find out where the batter and runner go you have to consult the rules of the batter and the runner.

Section 6.08 “The batter becomes a runner and is entitled to first base without liability to be put out when—“ (d) A fair ball touches an umpire or a runner on fair territory before touching a fielder. If a fair ball touches an umpire after having passed a fielder other than the pitcher, or having touched a fielder, including the pitcher, the ball is in play.”

Section 7.04 “Each runner, other than the batter, may without liability to be put out, advance one base when—“ (b) “The batter’s advance without liability to be put out forces the runner to vacate his base, or when the batter hits a fair ball that touches another runner or the umpire before such ball has been touched by, or has passed a fielder, if the runner is forced to advance” Comment “A runner forced to advance without liability to be put out may advance past the base to which he is entitled only at his peril.”

Back to the actual play. From my perspective it did not look like the pitcher touched the ball, so basically, the umpire was right in calling it a dead ball. The umpire was wrong in granting the runner home because he was not forced. The umpire was wrong in declaring the batter out. If the ball did touch the pitcher, the umpire should not have declared dead ball and it would have been in play. But since he did, the play should have stopped like it actually did.

  12. hurricanes make no excuses… the black sox won the AA championship. congratulations to them…

as far as these posts go: i dont think someone on the hurricanes could be gay enuff to call themselves (bostonbakedbeans)… dont know who that is????
if (larryz) is who i think it is, hes probably still running out to the fence at pie traynor to inspect the hole… u lost get over it… slowest human being i’ve ever seen….

to the rest of the league: we are still the defending champs… until we get knocked out of the actuall playoffs, we are going to remain champs….
so i say “RUN WITH US, RUN FROM US, OR GET RUN THE FUCK OVER…….”

  13. I’ll give it to them, they were definitely better than I thought they were. The ducks have been struggling to put the ball in play, but if we do, the speed on the bases, excluding myself should make up for what we lack. Our pitching, including me this time, has to step it up and we have to realize that we can’t just pop fastballs by everyone. It’s gonna be a good time, I think there will be some fireworks without a doubt.
